Ekonomika and PKF BOFIDI: Growing Together

There are few people who haven’t heard of Ekonomika, but what exactly does this student association do? And more importantly, how did they end up working with PKF BOFIDI? We asked the Ekonomika Finance Committee itself, as it plays a crucial role in the dynamic world of Ekonomika.

“The committee supports Ekonomika in all its financial activities, ranging from inventory management and insurance to budgeting and accounting. Each committee member has their own specific responsibilities, such as invoicing business partners or managing the bookkeeping of ‘Dulci’, Ekonomika’s beloved faculty bar. But beyond that, we also work together on general tasks, such as reimbursing committee members and maintaining financial records in Yuki,” says Arman Kalantaryan, Vice-President of Finance.

For us, the collaboration with PKF BOFIDI has already proven to be extremely valuable.

“We’ve noticed that they don’t just provide support with accounting but also offer valuable advice. The digitalization of processes at PKF BOFIDI has particularly impressed us,” the committee members add. “Where we once thought of thick binders and stacks of paper, we now see how modern and efficient accounting can be. This has completely changed our perception of an accounting firm.”

“When I first started working on the Ekonomika account,” says Sietse, senior accountant at PKF BOFIDI, “I never expected the students to be so involved. At the start of our collaboration, it took some time to get the bookkeeping back on track. But we did it together—with the students. I truly see this as a shared achievement!”

“We’re really looking forward to further strengthening this partnership. With the help of tools and software, we are increasingly able to perform annual analyses and plan for the long term, all with the advice and expertise of PKF BOFIDI,” says Arman. “In return, we get the chance to share our knowledge and guide students through their first financial journey,” adds Sietse.

This collaboration between Ekonomika and PKF BOFIDI not only highlights the importance of partnerships but also demonstrates how both parties strengthen each other and contribute to each other’s growth and development.
