B Corp Month: sustainability in practice at PKF BOFIDI

26/03/2026

March is globally dedicated to B Corp Month. A time when companies that consciously focus on creating positive impact are given extra visibility.
For us at PKF BOFIDI, this is also the moment to reflect on what sustainability truly means today and, above all, how we put it into practice every single day in our daily operations.
For us, sustainability is not a theoretical concept. It is not about reporting or obligations, but about conscious choices. Every single day. Choices that contribute to a future oriented company that creates long term value for our clients, our people and society at large.

From ambition to concrete actions

In recent years, we have deliberately taken steps to make sustainability tangible within our organisation.

One of the most visible changes is the electrification of our company car fleet. This naturally requires an adjustment, but it is an important step towards more sustainable mobility. At the same time, we have almost halved our CO₂ emissions, despite our continued growth.

We also take a critical look at the places where we work. We consciously choose energy efficient buildings, as infrastructure plays an important role in limiting our impact. Recently, for example, we decided to relocate our Hasselt office to the ReCore site, one of the most sustainable business campuses in Flanders.

Moreover, sustainability is not only reflected in major strategic decisions. It is also embedded in small, everyday choices. For instance, we pay attention to the recycling and reuse of old IT equipment, and we strive to use raw materials and energy in a responsible and thoughtful way.

This combination of large and small actions ensures that sustainability is not a standalone project, but an integral part of how we work.

Sustainability as a shared responsibility

For us, it is at least as important that sustainability does not exist solely at management level.

We actively share our values within the team and involve employees in initiatives. Real change only happens when people feel involved and are encouraged to think along.

And it works. Colleagues become more aware of their impact and come up with ideas themselves. This not only leads to better initiatives, but also strengthens engagement within the company.

Learning, measuring and adjusting

Our journey towards B Corp certification has mainly taught us that sustainability is not a straight line.

At first, you might think everything has to be perfect, but in practice it is more effective to make progress step by step. Measuring where you stand, setting priorities, taking action and then reassessing.

This process of continuous improvement is now deeply embedded in our operations. We continuously ask ourselves: where can we still improve, what can we do differently and how can we make our impact visible?

Looking beyond our own organisation

As an advisory firm, we see that sustainability is becoming increasingly important for entrepreneurs and SMEs. Many companies feel that the topic is relevant, but often do not know where to start.

That is where we want to help. We share our own experiences and approach sustainability in a pragmatic and achievable way.

It does not have to be complex. Often, it simply starts with insight and small, concrete steps.

Sustainability as the foundation for the future

For us, being a B Corp is not an end point, but a commitment to continuous improvement.

We believe that companies that consciously manage their impact today are also better prepared for the challenges of tomorrow.

Or, as we like to put it: sustainability ultimately comes down to building future proof businesses.
